Hello there! My name is Lewis Pollis. I also go by Lewie (either is fine as long as you don’t spell it L-O-U!) and I use he/him pronouns. I live in Providence, Rhode Island with my wife, Lizzie, and our dog, Asiago. We also have strong roots in Cleveland and Philadelphia.

I am currently a data scientist in the tech world. I have also spent over a decade working for four Major League Baseball teams in various capacities, including presently as a consultant.

In addition to my data work, I moonlight as a writer. My freelance contributions, ranging from sports to food, have appeared in such publications as ESPN, Baseball Prospectus, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

I publish a free personal newsletter, aptly titled The Lewsletter. My most-popular essays cover topics as varied as the story of my career change, the implicit social pressures to end necessary estrangements, and the surprisingly rich political symbolism of a seemingly ordinary campaign lunch stop. I’d love it if you subscribed!

I also write about food on my Instagram, @LewieTheFewdie, and over my eight years of living in Philadelphia I maintained a comprehensive ranking of the area’s best cheesesteaks (as well as other hoagies).
